Unio Astronomica Internationalis[1] (Anglice: International Astronomical Union, sigla IAU, et Francogallice: Union Astronomicale Internationale, sigla UAI) est conlegium re publica vacans astronomorum peritorum, qui pervestigando sive astronomiae docendae student.[2] Sedes primaria est Lutetiae Francorum. Linguae agendi Unionis Anglica et Francogallica sunt.

Auctoritas ubique approbata est ad corpora caelestia (stellas, planetas, asteroides, etc.) denominanda. Principale conlegii propositum est auxilio per orbem terrarum promovere et conservare scientiam astronomicam.
